A beautiful urban fantasy series written by Cassandra Clare . These books are a non stop train of awesomeness and you will want to stay on board for as long as possible . 
The story revolves around the main character fifteen year old Clary Fray, who is living with her single mother Jocelyn Fray in New York City . One day she heads to Pandemonium club for a party with her best friend, Simon , who is always there for her no matter what . She hardly expects to witness a murder by three strangers covered with weird tattoos and surreal weapons . She is dumbstruck when the dead body just vanishes into thin air without leaving any blood smears . The story gets intriguing when she is introduced to this world of shadowhunters . Shadowhunters are the people with special and fascinating powers who are set on a mission of protecting the world from demons . She eventually finds out that she is a shadowhunter when she meets Jace Wayland who is best of shadowhunters and is known for his good looks . Jace Wayland is sarcastic,witty and cold who enjoys while fighting with dangerous creatures that could very well kill him.Gradually Clary falls head over heels in love with Jace. Further both of them go to great extents to protect each other .
There is actually something for everyone in this book. There are beautiful creative and constantly twisting plots that will really draw you more and more into the story. The character growth in the story is adorable. There are characters you love and also some characters you will love to hate . There are  relationships that will make you cheer and some that will make you cringe. This book also depicts bromances and friendships beautifully.
